Our team strives to make a personal connection with every person who comes to a Sunday service and other RISE events. It is the Connections Team’s responsibility to ensure that our participants have a safe, welcoming, and encouraging experience at Rise MKE. Rise MKE utilizes technology in order to execute our mission on Sunday mornings and beyond. Not only does our tech team help create a captivating and engaging church service experience, they also help spread our message online. Rise MKE has a variety of opportunities for anyone interested in serving through our tech team:

  • Sound: Rise MKE uses a Behringer X32 Soundboard to balance instruments, voices, and speakers for our Sunday services. Someone with a keen ear for music would be a great fit for this position.
  • ProPresenter: RISE uses ProPresenter presentation software to display lyrics on a variety of screens. This role only requires someone to click the arrow key along with our worship and sermon and is an easy position for someone looking to get more involved.
  • Stream Operator: We use Wirecast streaming software and two remote controlled cameras in order to produce our online streams. The Stream Operator is responsible for selecting camera angles and streaming our Sunday services. Anyone interested in this role will be trained.

Gift of Love was developed by Christian Veterinary Mission alongside Mongolia V.E.T. Net which is a ministry whose primary focus is to see Mongolia changed through the power of Christ. This amazing ministry starts with your donation of $50 to buy a sheep for a poor family in Mongolia which ends up having a ripple effect of blessing.

Here’s how it works:

Sheep herders need quality drugs from their veterinarians but are often strapped for cash. As a result, their animals go untreated and suffer from parasitism and other disease.

Rural veterinarians want to help the herders, but they can only extend so much credit because they, too, need cash to replace depleted medicine inventories.

So, this is where you come in. Your $50 is used by V.E.T. Net to buy one healthy sheep from a herder. The herder then uses this $50 to pay the rural veterinarian for much needed medication for his herd. V.E.T. Net then gives the healthy sheep that you bought with your donation to needy people, often widows and widowers along with the message of the gospel. Finally, V.E.T. Net then re-supplies the medications to the rural veterinarian. It’s a massive web of blessings!

This is an incredible process that allows donors to give food directly to the neediest people while helping the herder, the rural veterinarian, and it helps bring sustainability to this wonderful organization. Because the infrastructure is already in place, one hundred percent of your $50 goes to buying a sheep for someone in need.

RISE partners with Bethany EV Free Church in La Crosse, WI and White Cross Ministries to bless the people in the Republic of the Congo by collecting new or used Christmas or greeting cards. Scripture verses are put on the cards and they are sent to the people of the Congo to decorate their homes. This is often the only decoration they might have on their walls. Your cards will provide a cherished gift of beauty and truth for these precious people. You can put your cards in the basket in the foyer. We can’t wait to make a difference in the Congo!

Soles for Jesus (SFJ) is a ministry with a mission to share the love of Christ through collecting shoes for the underserved in Africa, These individuals simply need a pair of shoes that properly fit them, so they can protect their feet as they walk. This can make a radical difference in the lives of both children or adults across the world! RISE participates by collecting pairs of shoes year-round and serving in the SFJ warehouse in Milwaukee frequently.

At RISE, we believe prayer is powerful and essential. We live this out in several ways. We have a Sunday Morning Prayer Team that offers prayer for anyone at the end of each service. We also have an Internet Prayer Team that receives virtual prayer requests that they lift up frequently.

We are a church who is constantly looking to meet needs in our community. Serve Our Neighbor is our monthly initiative to make a difference. We partner with individuals or organizations in the community to serve others! We have done trash pick up and yard work around the neighborhood, read books to children in our local school district, held pet clinics with the Brown Deer Police Department, collected food/resources and raised money for individuals in need, and more.

One of the most pressing local needs in Brown Deer is hungry children. In the Brown Deer Elementary School, 48% of the students are on the Free and Reduced Lunch program. While it’s awesome these kids get food at school, many of these same kids have both expressed and shown signs of not having enough food on the weekends. As you can imagine, hunger affects all aspects of life, including academic performance.

Rise MKE is excited to partner with the School District of Brown Deer to attack the problem of hunger among our children. The vehicle we are using is a well-established national program called Blessings in a Backpack. This program provides food for kids to take home on the weekends. They currently serve 1,000 schools in 46 states and the District of Columbia.

We believe it is unacceptable for even one Brown Deer child to go hungry! We also believe if we all do you our part, we can meet this challenge and in the process, change the lives of the most vulnerable in our community.
