MEMBERSHIP
Many people have questions as to why church membership is important. The first and most important reason is that the local church is God’s idea! The local church is the primary vessel that God has chosen to change the world and reach people for Jesus!Â
Â
The local church is God’s primary ordained means of:
- Reaching people for Christ.
- Deepening people’s relationship with Him.Â
- Teaching His followers to love one another.
- Experiencing deep fellowship not available in the world.
- Teaching His followers to be selfless and generous.Â
- Developing servant hearts among his followers.
Â
In Acts Chapter 2, God gives us a beautiful picture of the early church. It is a great representation and example for the modern day church.
Acts 2: 42-47
42Â And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. 43Â And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. 44Â And all who believed were together and had all things in common. 45Â And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. 46Â And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, 47Â praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.

Rise Kids
We love kids at RISE! We recognize the importance of kids learning about Jesus, putting their faith in Jesus, and growing in Jesus.
We have our nursery available for children ages two and under. We also provide a children’s program during the service with age appropriate teaching for all kids. Our aim is to help your kids love Jesus and love coming to RISE!
BAPTISM
One of my favorite days of the year is when I get to witness a Christian following Jesus into the waters of baptism. Baptism is like a wedding ring. It is an outward symbol of an inward commitment. It does not provide salvation.Â
The Bible makes clear that we are saved by grace, NOT by works so that no one may boast (Ephesians 2:8,9).
Baptism is a wonderful opportunity to publicly declare our faith in Jesus Christ!
We are commanded by Jesus to baptize people in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Â
The question often comes up, “Do we baptize babies?” And the answer is we do not. Once Jesus got baptized, every single person recorded in scripture who got baptized was a believer.Â
That’s why at RISE, we follow the command of Scripture by immersing people in the waters of baptism after they have personally put their faith in Jesus Christ. Â
At RISE, we do conduct Child Dedications. This is an opportunity for parents to celebrate the birth of a child, give thanks and recognize the child as God’s gift to them, and commit to parenting in such a way as to give the child every opportunity to know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. Check out our “Child Dedication” page for more information or to sign up.Â
And if you have not experienced the joy of publicly declaring your faith in Jesus through baptism, we invite you to contact us by filling out the sign up sheet below.
CHILD DEDICATION
A child dedication is an opportunity for parents to celebrate the birth of a child, give thanks, recognize the child as God’s gift to them, and commit to parenting in such a way as to give the child every opportunity to know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.
While a Child Dedication is not an ordinance along the lines of Baptism or the Lord’s Supper, it is certainly supported by Scripture. Examples of
Child Dedications in the Bible include Hannah’s dedication of Samuel as described in 1 Samuel chapter one and Mary and Joseph’s dedication of Jesus in Luke chapter two.Â
It is important to note that a Child Dedication does not have an effect concerning salvation of the child. However, it is a great opportunity for the parents to commit to God and to the church body to raise their child in such a way as to give the child every opportunity to put their faith in Jesus.
If you would like to inquire about the possibility of dedicating your child to the Lord, please fill out the sign up below!
